Malayali pride soars high!

Dr. V. Narayanan, a proud Malayali and rocket propulsion expert, is the new ISRO Chairman, leading India's space ambitions to greater heights.

Dr. V. Narayanan, a renowned Indian rocket propulsion expert, has been appointed as the new Chairman of ISRO, succeeding S. Somanath on January 14, 2025. A native of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Narayanan's educational journey includes a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, an M.Tech in Cryogenic Engineering (IIT Kharagpur), and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.

He joined ISRO in 1984 and has played pivotal roles in developing advanced propulsion systems and leading missions like Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3, and Gaganyaan. As the Director of ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, he oversaw key advancements in India's space technology.

Under his leadership, ISRO aims to achieve ambitious goals, including a space station by 2035, a manned moon mission by 2040, and expanding India's commercial space market share. His appointment has been praised by leaders like Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for inspiring youth and elevating India's space achievements.
